About Infrared Sauna

What Is An

Infrared Sauna?

An infrared sauna is a specialized sauna that uses infrared light to produce radiant heat, to heat the body directly. Infrared light is invisible to the human eye and is experienced as heat. The wavelengths of infrared light directly penetrate the skin, cells, muscles, joints, and tissues heating your body directly without significantly heating up the air, while raising the body’s core temperature to improve blood circulation, oxygen flow, and detox pathways. Unlike traditional saunas that heat the surrounding air to warm the body, where the air is heated first, followed by your skin, and lastly your core body temperature. The infrared sauna technology allows users to experience the benefits of a sauna at lower temperatures, while reaping extensive health benefits that raising the core body temperature produces.

Sports Recovery

Infrared heat can greatly benefit the sore, damaged, or tired muscles of an athlete. The Infrared heat penetrates the muscles, increasing blood circulation and assisting with muscle repair. Infrared heat also helps reduce lactic acids, allowing tight and worn-out muscles to relax and rejuvenate.

Anti-Aging

Infrared rays provide the most effective wavelength for healing the epidermis and dermis layers of the skin, stimulating collagen production to reduce wrinkles, improve overall skin tone, reduce pores, and leave you with a glowing skin tone. Studies show that Far Infrared sauna usage reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and crow's feet, and appearance improves as pores open from the deeper sweat induced by Infrared therapy.

Stress Relief

Stress build-up creates tension in the body, manifesting in various stress-related aches and pains. Sweating reduces stress and is very relaxing for both mind and body. Muscles are warmed by the Far Infrared heat, helping to release the stress and fatigue brought on by muscle tension.

Lower Blood Pressure & Heart Health

Infrared saunas induce a deep sweat to make the heart pump faster, which in turn increases blood flow, lowers blood pressure, and helps circulation. Clinical research shows reduced systolic and diastolic blood pressure with Infrared sauna use. Both are key factors in maintaining a healthy heart.

Cellulite Reduction

Heating the muscles with Infrared rays produces an increase in blood flow similar to that seen during exercise. Regular Infrared sauna use can significantly stimulate blood flow up to twice the normal rate, mimicking a cardio workout while helping to reduce the amount of cellulite.

Chronic Disease Treatment

Studies have shown that deep heating and efficient detoxification elements achieved with the use of Far Infrared saunas can be highly effective in aiding in the treatment of chronic diseases such as Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS), Fibromyalgia, Osteoarthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Heart disease, and other Autoimmune Diseases.

Detoxification

Sweating is the body’s safe and natural way to heal and stay healthy. Far Infrared sauna detox occurs by heating the body directly, increasing the core body temperature, resulting in a deep, detoxifying sweat at the cellular level, where toxins reside.

Pain Relief

Infrared heat penetrates tissue, joints, and muscles to relieve anything from minor aches and pains to chronic pain conditions such as fibromyalgia. Increasingly becoming part of therapy plans with pain management professionals to decrease pain, muscle spasms, and speed recovery times overall. Researchers have found therapeutic benefits to back, neck, and arthritis pain from continuous Infrared sauna therapy.

Cell Health & Immunity

Infrared sauna therapy stimulates the circulatory system and more fully oxygenates the body’s cells. Better blood circulation means more toxins flow from the cellular level to the skin’s surface to improve cell health, aid in muscle recovery, and strengthen the immune system.

Weight Loss

Studies have shown that one of our sauna pod sessions can burn upwards of 600 calories while you relax! As the body works to cool itself, there is a substantial increase in heart rate, cardiac output, and metabolic rate, causing the body to burn more calories. Studies show that Far Infrared therapy can lower weight and waist circumference in just three months.

Improve Circulation

Infrared sauna treatments are like giving your body a passive cardiovascular workout. Heating the muscles with Infrared rays produces an increase in blood flow similar to that seen during exercise. Regular Infrared sauna use can significantly stimulate blood flow up to twice the normal rate.

Wound Healing

Scientific research shows that Infrared sauna therapy greatly enhances the skin’s healing process by promoting faster cell regeneration and human tissue growth, repairing wounds, and preventing infections.

Our Infrared Sauna Experience

When you come in for an Infrared Sauna session, you will get a personalized treatment based on your specific health goals and needs, along with expert advice tailored specifically for you. You’ll lie down and relax in our infrared sauna pod, in your own private room. Your head and face are exposed and remain outside the pod the entire session to be able to breathe clearly. During the first 10-15 minutes of treatment, you’ll feel as if you were wrapped in a warm blanket, feel very relaxed, and maybe even sleepy. The last 10-15 minutes is when the sweat pours itself on, and the intensity rises. Directly afterward, your body will continue to perspire as it naturally cools down and you will feel like you have just finished an intense workout. About 30-60 minutes afterward, you will feel invigorated and rejuvenated.

What to Expect

Improvements in Health

You may notice subtle improvements after a single session, but regular sessions are recommended for long-lasting effects.

Customized for You

SALTNSAUNA-Infrared
Is Infrared Sauna

Right For You?

Infrared sauna therapy is a safe, relaxing wellness option for almost anyone. If you’d like to promote detoxification, anti-aging, pain relief, stress reduction, and more, infrared sauna therapy is highly beneficial. Healthy adults are welcome to use the sauna as frequently as daily as long as they feel well and stay hydrated. The sauna is safe for children, too, at a lower operating temperature. Their core body temperature rises much faster than adults, so we lower the temperature and restrict the duration of their sessions to 1 minute per their age (example: a 10 year old can sauna for 10 minutes). Due to the possibility of overheating, infrared sauna sessions are not recommended for pregnant women.
