Infrared light is necessary for all living things to grow and flourish. Infrared light is a part of the sun’s invisible light spectrum that can penetrate human tissue. Infrared heat heats the body directly rather than simply the air. The experience of an infrared treatment is similar to sunbathing, giving you that incredible natural warmth. Unlike sunbathing, infrared heat therapy is completely healthy and safe. You can relax in an infrared sauna, which will never cause your skin to burn. Infrared heat penetrates human tissue and cells, producing various health benefits.

Infrared Sauna Therapy is 7x more effective than a traditional sauna and is effective at a low, soothing temperature (It’s so safe that it’s used in hospitals to warm newborn infants). To deliver health benefits like anti-aging, weight loss, and detoxification, saunas must emit high concentrations of infrared waves—not just heat. For infrared therapy to be successful, heaters must have a high emissivity level for the body to absorb infrared energy. Our sauna pods are proven 95-99% efficient at delivering a higher dose of infrared energy into the body, resulting in a therapeutic range for natural healing and prevention.

Far infrared therapy purifies the body, boosts energy, and shrinks belly fat. Our far infrared (FIR) panels provide the longest wavelength, reaching deepest into the body and cells, where toxins are stored. During treatment, your body is surrounded by soothing far infrared heat penetrating the body at the cellular level. By raising your core body temperature 3 degrees in 30 minutes, FIR stimulates the sweat glands, resulting in a deep, detoxifying sweat that leaves you feeling light and revitalized.

To enable infrared to penetrate tissues as deep as possible, we recommend wearing a swimsuit, gym shorts, and a T-shirt or tank. All are great options.

Sweat levels differentiate between each individual. Don't be surprised if you don't sweat during the first few sessions. Sweating will increase with regular use. Even if your body is not drenched in sweat, your body is still detoxifying from harmful toxins. Also, be sure to drink plenty of water before your session. If you are dehydrated, you will not sweat as much. If you are hydrated properly, you will sweat more.

One session will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. But similar to exercise, the more you do it, the better the results. Recommended use depends on your overall health goals and your situation, but overall, 3-4 times per week for 30 minutes is ideal.

The first 15-20 minutes, you'll feel as if you were wrapped in a warm blanket, feel very relaxed, and maybe even sleepy. The last 10-15 minutes is when the sweat pours itself on, and the intensity rises. Directly afterward, you will feel like you have just finished an intense workout, and about 30-60 minutes afterward, you will feel invigorated and rejuvenated.

Yes absolutely. We suggest drinking increased amounts of water to keep yourself hydrated. If you feel fine, use the sauna daily and enjoy it.

Yes, Infrared heat benefits occur because your core body temperature rises in your entire body, benefiting your face and head, too (even outside the pod).

Our pod is clinically proven to raise your core body temperature 3 degrees within 30 minutes, higher & faster than any cabin on the market or any other pod on the market. 100% of our clients who have used a cabin then use our infrared sauna pod say, "They sweat more, they sweat quicker, it's a much more intense experience, and they'll never sweat in a cabin again!" Raising your core body temperature by 3 degrees in 30 minutes is the "secret sauce" for providing true therapeutic health benefits that you are looking for, like creating a false fever to regenerate your old cells into new ones. You can breathe room temperature air, which makes it more tolerable for clients who have asthma, allergies, or other respiratory issues, can't use a cabin, and need an environment as toxic-free as possible. Many of the cabins use glues and other binding agents that can be toxic. The pod is made of bamboo carbon, has zero glues and binding agents that can be toxic, and has zero EMF waves. The session time can be shorter because the space is smaller and more concentrated and therapeutic for detox, healing, and prevention. After all, you want your body healed, not the air.

Yes. The units come to us with zero EMF waves, and we keep it that way by operating them all by hand. This prevents wifi from creating unnecessary and unhealthy EMF waves with each sauna. The Solocarbon® panels are 100% quality controlled to ensure the safety & effectiveness of each heater. Our proprietary heater design eliminates all EMF and steel conduit electrical shielding, making your sauna as safe as possible.

We recommend that you shower at least 30 minutes after your session concludes. During that time, you are still reaping the rewards of detoxing and healing as your body naturally cools itself down.

Yes, we use bamboo carbon towel wraps inside the pod that are naturally antibacterial, anti-fungal, and deodorizing. They are highly absorbent for water and sweat. After each session, we sanitize with a non-toxic green cleaner and change all bedding to a fresh new set. Infrared light also kills all bacteria and any airborne germs or fungi (many medical devices are sanitized using infrared light in hospitals).

No, if you have health concerns, we recommend speaking with your doctor before your sauna session.

No, infrared heaters are located inside the wall panels of the pod. The lights are Chromotherapy, a separate healing modality.

Yes, there are studies on the use of infrared for a multitude of health benefits. Specifically, Salt n’ Sauna Wellness infrared saunas have been shown to increase core temperature for detoxification, lower blood pressure, relieve pain, aid in weight loss, and much more. Ask us for the research and studies.

The core body temperature of children rises much faster than that of adults. When taking a sauna session with a child, we operate at a lower temperature and for no more than 15 minutes at a time. A general rule of thumb is 1 minute inside the sauna per year of age for the child but always accompanied by an adult. And remember to keep you and your children hydrated, even if you don’t see them sweating.

Please consult your physician, as this answer is usually yes but maybe no, depending on your circumstances.

Even though infrared is entirely safe, it is not recommended to use while pregnant. While pregnant, the core body temperature is already elevated, and you could overheat.

Solocarbon far infrared heating panels are the most effective sauna heaters today, delivering the highest dose of infrared energy. Scientific research shows that far infrared is most therapeutic in high concentrations. Solocarbon panels are proven 95-99% emissive, meaning that 95-99% of the energy produced is in the therapeutic range to increase core body temperature for a deep, detoxifying sweat. This is the active ingredient that has been clinically shown to lower blood pressure, aid in weight loss, support detoxification, and aid in optimum healing and prevention. In addition, our Solocarbon pod is comfortable and concentrated, where you can breathe room temperature air, making it tolerable for clients with asthma, allergies, or other respiratory issues who can't use a cabin-enclosed environment. In addition, the materials used in our highly emissive coating are FDA-approved and non-toxic.

The design of a Solocarbon heater allows for most of the far infrared wavelength to be near 9.4 microns, which is the level at which the human body absorbs infrared energy. This is also the frequency at which a water molecule resonates or vibrates. This vibration causes a release of cellular toxins. Our patented heater design is our special sauce. Solocarbon panels comprise three separate layers sandwiched and cured at 320°F, resulting in a nearly perfect black body. This unique process makes our far infrared heaters 95-99% emissive, safe, and effective. This is why Solocarbon panels are the only far infrared heaters clinically shown to raise core body temperature by nearly 3° for the most detoxifying sweat, lower systolic and diastolic blood pressure, and aid in weight loss.

69"L x 28" W x 18"H - keep in mind that size is for your body only (collar bone/shoulders down). Your head will remain outside of the pod at all times.

It shows clinically how effective an infrared sauna will be at therapeutic healing. You want your core temperature to rise 3 degrees in 30 minutes, like creating a false fever to regenerate old cells into new cells. This is the secret to providing true therapeutic health benefits from an infrared sauna. If a core temperature study cannot be produced, then that is a red flag, or if the study doesn't show a rise of 3 degrees in 30 minutes, then the therapeutic health benefits could be lacking. (Most saunas require you to sit in a cabin for 45-60 minutes because the sauna doesn't increase your core temperature to a therapeutic range for healing, detoxing, and sweating.)

Do not use if pregnant, have severe inflammation, a fever, a communicable disease, acute bleeding, or are intoxicated.

If you have had abdominal surgery, tummy tuck, c-section, or breast augmentation recently, make sure to check with your physician before use for approval. You will want to cover up any new scars with clothing or the towel provided in your room.

If any contraindications apply to you, consult your physician before sauna use.

Individuals who are using prescription drugs should seek the advice of their personal physician or pharmacist for possible changes in the drug's effect when the body is exposed to infrared waves or elevated body temperature. Diuretics, barbiturates, and beta-blockers may impair the body’s natural heat-loss mechanisms. Anticholinergics such as amitriptyline may inhibit sweating and predispose individuals to heat rash or, to a lesser extent, heat stroke. Some over-the-counter drugs, such as antihistamines, may also cause the body to be more prone to heat stroke.

The core body temperature of children rises much faster than that of adults. This occurs due to a higher metabolic rate per body mass, limited circulatory adaptation to increased cardiac demands, and the inability to regulate body temperature by sweating. When using with a child, operate at a lower temperature and for no more than 15 minutes at a time, 1 minute per their age.

The ability to maintain core body temperature decreases with age. This is primarily due to circulatory conditions and decreased sweat gland function. The body must activate its natural cooling processes to maintain core body temperature. When using with the elderly, operate at a lower temperature.

Individuals with cardiovascular conditions or problems (hypertension/hypotension), congestive heart failure, impaired coronary circulation, or taking medications that might affect blood pressure should exercise caution when exposed to prolonged heat. Heat stress increases cardiac output and blood flow to transfer internal body heat to the outside environment via the skin (perspiration) and respiratory system. This takes place primarily due to major changes in the heart rate, which has the potential to increase by 30 beats per minute for each degree increase in core body temperature.

Contrary to popular belief, it is not advisable to attempt to “sweat out” a hangover. Alcohol intoxication decreases a person’s judgment. Therefore, they may not realize when the body reacts adversely to high heat. Alcohol also increases the heart rate, which may be further increased by heat stress.

Multiple Sclerosis, Central Nervous System Tumors, and Diabetes with Neuropathy are conditions that are associated with impaired sweating.

The use of infrared saunas should be avoided by anyone who is predisposed to bleeding.

An individual with a fever should not use an infrared sauna until the fever subsides.

An individual with insensitivity to heat should not use an infrared sauna.

Pregnant women should consult a physician before using an infrared sauna.

Heating of the low back area of women during the menstrual period may temporarily increase their menstrual flow.

If you have a recent (acute) joint injury, it should not be heated for the first 48 hours after an injury or until the swollen symptoms subside. If you have a joint or joints that are chronically hot and swollen, these joints may respond poorly to vigorous heating.

Metal pins, rods, artificial joints, or any other surgical implants generally reflect infrared waves and, thus, are not heated by this system. Nevertheless, you should consult your physician before using an infrared sauna.
